Portable ScanSnap S300M Offers Mac Users Powerful Anytime, Anywhere Mobile Scanning Solution
Sunnyvale, CA, January 14, 2008 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a market leader in document imaging scanners and services, today introduced the Fujitsu ScanSnap S300M mobile scanning solution, the world’s smallest color, duplex ADF (automatic document feeder) scanner for Mac® users. Complementing the popularity of mobile productivity solutions among the Mac community, the ScanSnap S300M is a completely portable scanner, weighing less than 3.1 lbs with an ultra-compact footprint measuring a mere 11.2” x 3.7” x 3.0”. Additionally, the ScanSnap S300M can operate from a USB connection, without the support of an AC power supply, enabling mobile users to scan paper documents, receipts, bills, invoices and business cards anywhere they go. When not on the road, ScanSnap S300M users benefit from an extremely compact desktop scanning solution for office or home use.
The ScanSnap S300M supports Mac OS® X Leopard™ and offers the fastest “one-touch” conversion of paper documents into PDF (portable document format) files available today in the mobile scanning industry. Users simply load a stack of up to 10 documents into the ADF and press the “SCAN” button to produce PDF files at speeds of up to 8 double-sided pages per minute (ppm). The ScanSnap S300M also comes bundled with powerful scanning software including Cardiris™ for fast business card scanning, ScanSnap Manager for fast setting adjustments and ScanSnap Quick Menu for ultimate control of all scanned documents
“Fujitsu made a commitment to support the Mac community when we introduced the first ScanSnap in 2005 and we are continually adding new, ground-breaking products that give consumers an opportunity to choose the best scanning solutions to fit their particular needs,” said Victor Kan, vice president of sales and marketing, Imaging Products Group, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. “Mac users are benefiting from a growth spurt of innovative productivity tools coming to market and Fujitsu is excited to be a part of this innovation by adding a new portable scanning solution for the mobile professional, home office worker or consumer looking to digitize important documents around the house.”
Developed to maintain the advanced functionality of previous award-winning ScanSnap models, the ScanSnap S300M mobile scanning solution includes innovative features such as:
