Europeans can now use Skype on their PSP
January 30, 2008
News just released from the Skype Blog :
Earlier this month, we said it’d be available later this month.
If you’ve got a Sony PSP Slim & Lite and have been waiting since CES for a system software update so you could make Skype calls, now is the time to act. All you need to do is to upgrade your handheld’s system software to version 3.90.
With the update, just announced by the Sony folks in Europe, PSP Slim & Lite users can make free voice calls to 276m other registered Skype users, see which friends are online and available to talk.
Also, if you have a bit of Skype credit lying around, you can use your PSP to make cheap SkypeOut calls to call landlines and mobiles anywhere on the home planet.
Oh, and please make sure you’ve got a live WiFi connection, or that Skype conversation will remain as elusive as decent Estonian stand-up comedy.

CoolerMaster launches a new quiet Cosmos series
January 22, 2008
Last year, Cooler Master released the high-end CM Stacker 830 chassis for the PC enthusiast market. The chassis features superior thermal structure with a unique 3D appearance that has created a stir with consumers and reviewers alike. After conducting wide-ranging marketing surveys and countless in-depth interviews with professional reviewers, we found the one demand that remained unsatisfied was a quiet and superior-performance operation environment. That’s why Cooler Master is launching the new-generation COSMOS to market.
Soundproof and damping design:
In order to solve noise issues in high-end systems, the COSMOS design team made use of the principles of hi-fi equipment design. We transformed the audio equipment stand into a progressive aluminum tube stand, thus eliminating resonance by providing three-to-five times the bending strength. The solid front panel and low-density soundproof materials inside the casing and junction wraps system noise inside. Even if the system runs under a full load, quiet operation is maintained.
Innovative convectional thermal structure:
Built on highly skilled individuals with years of hands-on thermal experience, Cooler Master proudly presents another landmark in advanced thermal technology design with the COSMOS.
By way of its innovative bottom intake ventilation design, which uses a natural airflow induction system, COSMOS cleverly enhances the conventional cooling systems by using the concept of stack and negative pressure effect. While still maintaining minimal power consumption, COSMOS provides not only excellent performance but also a super silent environment.
Tool-free Design:
From its conceptualization, a comfortable and friendly user environment was at the origins of design. Product development led to the COSMOS being equipped with various tool-free designs to allow quick and easy access, such as the open side panel, the installation of ODD/add-on cards and so on. In addition, detachable aluminum HDD cages help users to replace hard drives quickly. All the tool-free designs solve the problems of system building and maintenance. Furthermore, COSMOS includes an extra succinct storage box, which helps users keep tools and spare screws together inside the casing.
