Sharp makes the X, its a AQUOS television serie with thinnest profile ever
January 24, 2008
Sharp Corporation will introduce into the Japanese market three models in the new AQUOS X Series of LCD TVs. The 46V, 42V and 37V-inch TVs not only deliver high-quality pictures, but also bring a refined sense of quality to interior décor when mounted on the wall.We are now beginning the eighth year since Sharp first introduced the AQUOS LCD TV in 2001, and the flat-panel TV market is beginning its transition from a phase of growth to a stage of maturity. In this environment, demand for flat-panel TVs is also expected to diversify. Consumers are seeking not only the larger screen sizes and full HD specs that have dominated the market up to now, but are also looking for models that offer thinner profiles and wall-mount capabilities to complement room décors.
The AQUOS X Series can accommodate the needs of consumers who want to mount a flat-panel TV on the wall to take full advantage of its thin profile, or who desire to change their living room décor by decorating a wall with it like a painting.
Advanced engineering and technologies that one would expect in the AQUOS have enabled this X Series to achieve the industry’s thinnest profile*2 for the display section, a mere 3.44 cm thick (at the thinnest part). In addition, by making the most of this thin structure and paying careful attention to design not only on the front, but also on the sides and back, the AQUOS X Series features a design that looks beautiful mounted on a wall and harmonizes beautifully as a part of any interior space including living rooms.
Plus, the X Series adopts a discrete component configuration that separates the display section from the tuner section. Users can connect the display section simply and easily via a single cable. Housing the tuner as a separate component also eliminates the time and effort involved in turning the back of the display section to make connections with the antenna cable or peripheral equipment.
Major Features
| 1. | Industry’s thinnest profile, just 3.44 cm thick (at the thinnest part). |
We guess theres space enough for 640 pcs in a 40ft container, so send one to US now.
Sharp to Introduce Four New E Series AQUOS LCD TVs
January 24, 2008
Sharp Corporation will introduce into the Japanese market four new models in the AQUOS E Series of LCD TVs that deliver Smooth Picture Quality by reproducing subtle color gradations with rich detail and a strong sensation of depth.
The popularity of LCD TVs is growing rapidly and replacement demand directed toward flat-panel TVs is expanding. Consumers are choosing to replace older living-room models by purchasing new TVs with larger screens and higher resolution.
This AQUOS E Series reproduces impressive pictures with a powerful sensation of depth (TV contrast*1: 15,000:1) by increasing the perceived contrast by optimally controlling the backlight brightness and the aperture ratio of the LCD panel to match the video scene being shown. In addition, proprietary 12-bit BDE*2 circuitry controls the LCD panel to reproduce subtle changes in color values (color gradations) for a smooth, natural-looking picture. Together, this high TV contrast and 12-bit BDE color value rendering deliver Smooth Picture Quality, reproducing subtle color gradations from light tones to dark with rich detail and a strong sensation of depth, enabling viewers to enjoy the full video quality promised by digital broadcasting.
In addition, a compact design with a thin profile, narrow bezel and lighter weight achieves a small footprint with a large screen, allowing these models to be installed in the same space as an existing TV while still providing a larger size screen.
Plus, all E Series models feature a 1-Bit Digital Amplifier that reproduces clear, natural sound, and the AQUOS Familink, an advanced interface that enables the viewer to comfortably and easily operate an AQUOS Blu-ray Disc Player, AQUOS HD Recorder, and AQUOS Audio System connected to the AQUOS TV.
By constantly pursuing picture quality, audio quality, design and environmental performance as the pinnacle of flat-panel TVs, the AQUOS is aiming to be the “entertainment TV of choice,” offering new audio/visual lifestyles in sizes ranging from living room units to personal models.
Major Features
| 1. | TV contrast of 15,000:1 and 12-bit BDE color value rendering deliver Smooth Image Quality, the latest in LCD technology. |

Flat-panel TVs have now achieved widespread penetration in the Japanese market. Demand for larger screen sizes for the living room is accelerating while at the same time, demand for second TV sets to be used as personal TVs in bedrooms and private spaces is also rising.

Philips wins “Best of CES award” for 42 inch “Eco TV”
January 10, 2008
As you might know, Philips 42″ PFL5603D “Eco TV” was a finalist for CNET’s “Best of CES” award. Philips not only won in the TV category, but it also snagged the coveted “Best of CES” awards. To be picked as the best TV out of all the TVs on the floor was amazing, but to be selected as what CNET considered to be THE PRODUCT of the entire show is tremendous. To say we are overwhelmed here on the show floor is an understatement.
This TV also won a CEA Innovations award - so I think you can clearly see it is a TV to have!
